8 Cord De Chine
A fine dress material, woven from a fine botany warp and silk weft. The warp has two ends in each dent and in one eye of the healds to form cords; the weft is inserted in single picks. A very slight cord effect is given down the piece. -

11 Metz Cord
A fine worsted dress cloth woven in a broken twill weave. The cloth is weft face and has nearly twice as many picks as there are ends, such as 80 ends and 140 picks and 72 ends and 120 picks per inch, cotton warp and 56's botany weft. The weave gives a fine face cord effect. -

A cord composed of a rubber core with fine silk or cotton thread wound around it as a covering. -
13 Paris Cord
Derives its name from the city where it was first made. It is a heavy silk fabric, having small fine ribs running from selvedge to selvedge, about 16 cords to the inch. It was used for waistcoats and ties during the 18th century. Latterly the cord weft was of cotton. -
14 Russel Cord
A simple matting cloth with cotton warp, weaving two ends together, and fine worsted weft. The warp is weighted, and the weft does the bending, giving a rib effect. Used for summer coating, scholastic gowns, etc. It is a similar cloth to Persian Cord. The cloth was originally made of all-worsted yarns. -
15 Bresilienne Cord
A fine silk dress fabric, having silk cords, woven in Lyons. Also used for vestings. -
16 Cossack Cord
A woollen twill fabric formerly made in England. It has fine stripes on a white ground. -
17 Hair Cord Muslin
A plain weave cloth, woven with fine warp and weft and hair cords, 1/4-in. to 1/2-in. apart. Similar to ordinary hair-cords, but made with finer yarns. About 60 ends and 56 picks per inch, 60's T., 64's W. The cords vary from 30's to 40's singles. -
